MINISTER: Pastor Joshua Muoka
TOPIC: WHAT MATTERS NOW AND ETERNITY
TEXT: Hosea 4:6, Ezekiel 18:4, Mark 8:36
Everyone should give thought to what really matters now and in eternity because what matters to many people now does not really matter nor does it really matter in our life now and forever, Mark 8:36,1st Corinthians 10:19.
Many people are pursuing what does not really matter and have ended up losing sight or focus on the things that matter. Ecclesiastes 2:4-9
So many people are lamenting and losing focus on God and heaven at last.
Many brethren that are blessed with spiritual blessings are also troubled about the vanities of life, also disturbed on how to get this and that in this world. Matthew 24:1-2, Ecclesiastes 1:2.
When we talk about vanity, they are the things you can see with your eyes, the things you can touch, and all the material things of life. John 14:1-2. So for all those that are troubled about these material things the message from our Lord Jesus Christ is: let not your heart be troubled.
Everyone who is knowledgeable should through this message redress their mind and eternity. They should be our focus, they should be what should matter to us, and they should be our pursuit.
POINTS TO CONSIDER.
- What Matters explained And The Unfortunate Situation.
- Our Expected Response And The Reasons.
POINT 1: WHAT MATTERS EXPLAINED AND THE UNFORTUNATE SITUATION.
Once one again is born into this world and to the age of reasoning such a person should seek to be born again, and everyone must be sure of their salvation. So what matters now and in eternity is to be born again and go on to maintain righteousness. Such a person should go on to serve God in righteousness and study to do the will of God. 2nd Timothy 2: 15, studying the word of God makes for approval before God.
If you must proper, you must do the will of God, that is what matters to the Lord. It matters to live right, fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It matters to ensure that nothing is standing between us and God.
It matters now to secure our soul and place in heaven. To those who are born again, it matters to forsake all and follow Him; serve God in soul-winning and doing the totality of the will of God.
Proverb 3:7, Amos 4:12. As we’re in this world, all that should matter to us is preparation for eternity. No one can go to heaven without preparation because heaven is a prepared place for prepared people and so if anyone must enter there, one must begin from now to make the necessary preparation, Mark 8:36; 10:28, John 8:12, Luke 10:39.
We all should be like Mary, Luke 10:39.
The unfortunate situation is that many today, believers and unbelievers are running after the things of this present world as if they are going to live in this world forever 1st Timothy 6:6, 1st Corinthians 7:29, Luke 12:16.
POINT 2: OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE REASONS.
Ephesians 4:27, John 10:10
We should remember that the things of this world are all vanity.
We should take note that the more one is after these things, the more they become difficult to get, Matthew 6:33, 1st Corinthians 4:7.
The gift of life is given to us by God, and whatever we want will be given to us by God.
So, our focus should be to do the things that please God and He shall bless us abundantly in Jesus’ name.
