TOPIC: FREEDOM FOR THE CAPTIVES

TEXT: Isaiah 61: 1; Psalm 126: 1

As we come to the conclusion of this message in this month on jubilee, the Lord Himself will proclaim freedom for all captives. As many that have helped the Needy or the church, the Lord will give you freedom and victory over your enemies in Jesus name.

Today is a special day for those that obey the Lord. Luke 6:31, Galatians 6:7. It is a well known fact that whatever you sow, you will reap. If you have cancelled someone’s debt as a matter of jubilee, God will also cancel your debt.
He is the only good God and He will do us good. Matthew 5:19, Job 42:10-12, Psalm 126:1,

When God turns away your captivity, those who previously mocked you will surely rejoice with you.
For more insights in this message, we shall consider these points:-

1: THE CAUSES OF CAPTIVITY AND EXAMPLES

When a person is ignorant of God, when you are ignorant of your Creator, such person will be taken captive by the devil. See Hosea 4:6.
When someone claims to know God but still lives in sin, such person will  be taken captive by the devil. See 1 John 3:8. The devil will claim ownership of such a person’s life and cause a lot of havoc. 1 John 5:18.
Sin gives the devil a legal right to torment anyone. As such, you must keep away from sin.

Also, when one is stingy and refuse to give, such person can be taken captive. Things like payment of tithe and pledges are very important. Malachi 3:8.
God promises those who pay tithes to rebuke devourers in their lives. We must obey the Lord in this area. Exodus 19: 4, Judges 6:1- here we see how God allowed the Midianites to capture the Isrealites because they sinned against Him. Psalm 137:1-2, Galatians 6:7.

A serious Believer can be captured by the enemy as a result of faithlessness. When there is no faith, there is fear and fear is the agent of the devil. He can capitalize on that fear to torment one. You are to have faith in God, stop complaining and murmuring.

Repent today and put your entire trust in God.

You might also be captured as a result of trials and persecution. Know that a believer can go through trials and troubles, but God is able to deliver one if you call upon Him. Recall the case of  Peter in Acts 12:5. He was imprisoned because of persecution but was miraculously delivered.

When a Believer is prayerless and careless, the devil will strike and capture such a person.
1 Peter 5:8- In this scripture, we are admonished to be watchful and careful.  You should arm yourself with fasting, prayerfullness, righteousness etc.

Examples abound in the Bible of people that were careless in their walk with God and became captives of the enemy. Please read the following scriptures: Judges 2:11, Judges 3:7, Judges 4:1, Judges 13:1.

I have an assurance for you today, God is here today to set every captive free!

2:  HE THAT SET THE CAPTIVES FREE AND OUR RESPONSE

Any person in prison or captivity cannot deliver himself/herself except by God’s intervention. 1 Samuel 2:9.

Today, as I speak, any captivity you are into will come to an end in Jesus name.
John 15:4. Anyone inprisoned by the enemy and his agents will be liberated today. Is it unemployment, stagnancy, sickness, shame, reproach, poverty  etc? Today, you will be delivered from them all.
Psalm 40:1-3.

If you are still living in sin, you need to repent and give your life to Christ.

As we conclude this message today and you are asking God to do jubilee for you, then you must amend your ways and do not return to sin. Sin will hinder you and deny you of your freedom.

For the sinners and Backsliders, they should repent and surrender all to Jesus Christ.
Confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour.
A Sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is not a Sinner.
1 John 3: 8 & 9;
Are you asking, “what is sin?”
1 John 5: 17a;
All unrighteousness is sin.
Unbelief is sin. Unforgiveness is sin; Selfishness is sin; Covetousness is sin
Lusting after evil things is sin.  Insincerity is sin; backbiting, murmuring, speaking evil of others, these are terrible sin. You need to search your life. Confess them. Repent and promise God, no more.

Are you patronising the native doctors or you are one of them? Are you going for divination and palm reading, all that is terrible wickedness. No child of God does that. If you are into stealing, any form of stealing; stealing from Government, stealing from companies and individuals, that is sin. Amend your ways.
If you are there and you are involved into armed robbery, duping people, do not bring such money to this Church.

If you are among those people that are involved in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion, that is terrible wickedness.
Fighting and quarreling, smoking and drunkenness all these are evil. Ask for the mercy of God.

Are you into fighting and quarreling? Are you disobedient to your husband or you are beating your wife, that is sin.
Are you into any kind of killing, poisoning people, hired assassin, ritual killings?Confess that sin and amend your ways. Promise God you will not return to that wickedness.
Are you into extortion? Taking bribe or giving bribe? That is sin. Amend your ways.
Are you into divorce? That is sin.
Matthew 19: 4-6.

Are you into polygamous marriage or you have sent away your wife or you moved away from your husband, that is sin. Marriage is between a man and a woman until death separates you.
Are you a woman dressing like a man or a man dressing like a woman, all that is sin. It is an abomination. Deuteronomy 22: 5. Abominable people can never enter Heaven. Revelations 21: 8.
Are you among those that take snuff, take cigarette and banned substances, that is sin. That is wickedness against your soul and against humanity.

All these people that bleach their body and turn yellow over night, that is sin.
I have not spoken this word to condemn you but to point out what is evil thereby enabling you to amend your ways.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I have spoken these words, not to condemn you, but to convict you of any sin you may be into and for you to turn away from that sin.

Proverbs 28: 13;
God is willing to show you mercy and he has made provisions for the sins that are passed.
If you want to reconcile with God; come to the Father through Jesus Christ. I am assuring you, freedom from sin shall be your portion.
John 14: 6; John 1: 29; John 10: 10b; Matthew 11: 28; John 1: 12; 2 Corinthians 5: 17
As you give your life to Jesus Christ and begin to live the life of the kingdom of God,  I am assuring you, that no captivity shall befall you again in Jesus name.
