Sunday Message: Remember Mercy, Oh Lord…By Pastor Lazarus Muoka

Sunday Combined Message 29/05/2022

TOPIC: REMEMBER MERCY, OH LORD!

Text: Habakkuk 3: 1 & 2; James 2: 13

Brethren, maybe you have been going through terrible or adverse situations and you have done everything humanly possible to overcome yet to no avail.

Sometimes, you may have received prohecy of impending problem without any solution. I will like you to know that these experiences are usually as a result of wrong lifestyle. They are the consequences of sin.

Sometimes, you notice that you are losing favour in the sight of men. You live in constant fear, you envisage judgement and its effects all around you. When you look back and discover the terrible things you’ve done in time past, you seem unsure of what will happen to you. If this is your case, know that the only option or the way out is the mercy of God.

The reason for this message is to address this situation in your life. By the mercy of God today, you shall be delivered.

For more understanding of this message, we shall consider the following points:

1: THE EXAMPLES AND REASONS.

Many people offended the Lord in the old times and came under severe judgement of God. As a result of this judgement, they suffered greatly. For example,  the Isrealites came under judgement because of murmuring and complaining.  See Numbers 14:1- 5, 10, 17.

From this exchange between Moses and God, we see that God delights so much in mercy. Another example is when the Isrealites turned to other gods. Judges 2: 19, judges 3:6, Judges 4:1, judges 6:1, Judges 10:7-8,  Judges 13:1,

From these passages, we see a trend in the activities of the Isrealites. They had a habit of going into sin. However, each time they retraced their steps and cried unto God, we see God always come through with His mercy.

Also, when the people of Ninevah repented of their sin, their sentence of judgement was cancelled by God. Jonah 13:1

Likewise, when Jonah repented of his disobedience while inside the belly of the fish, God heard him.  Read Jonah 2:1.

I do not know what you are suffering, by the mercy of God, that suffering will cease in Jesus name.

Recall also David in the Bible who cried unto God when he was under judgement. Psalm 51:1; 2 Samuel 12:13.

I do not know how many of you have the sentence of death, dreaming of dead people. As you turn away from your sin, that judgement of death shall be cancelled!
Micah 7: 18 & 19;  Lamentations 3: 22

2: OUR RESPONSE AND BENEFITS.

No matter the evil done in the past and the resultant effect, what you need to do is to acknowledge your sins and cry out for mercy.
James 2:  Psalm 51:1-3,.
By the mercy of God, you will experience total freedom from all captivity.

Also ensure that you prepare adequately for the upcoming program titled, “AND THE ENEMIES SUBMITTED”.

As we conclude this message today, make sure you do not give place to the Devil.
You must therefore amend your ways and do not return to sin. Sin will hinder you and the mercy of God may be far from you if you are an unrepentant sinner.

You must therefore repent and surrender all to Jesus Christ.
Confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour.
A Sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is not a Sinner.

If you are among those people that are involved in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion, that is terrible wickedness.
Fighting and quarreling, smoking and drunkenness all these are evil. Ask for the mercy of God.

Are you into fighting and quarreling? Are you disobedient to your husband or you are beating your wife, that is sin.

All these people that bleach their body and turn yellow over night, that is sin.
I have not spoken this word to condemn you but to point out what is evil thereby enabling you to amend your ways.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I have spoken these words, not to condemn you, but to convict you of any sin you may be into and for you to turn away from that sin.
