Text: Genesis 21:17
Theme: ABUNDANCE IS NOT LIMITED BY TIME
Memory Verse: “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” (Genesis 24:1)
God’s promise of abundance of His blessings is not limited by time. No matter how long it takes, His promises must come to pass. Sometimes, it might take a while, but then, it must surely come to pass. That was exactly what happened in the case of Abraham. He was old and well stricken in years, yet, God went ahead and blessed him in all things. God’s promises did not expire in his life. He stayed alive to witness God’s blessings. Sarah his wife, had a child when it seemed impossible. What we are trying to establish here is that God’s promises are not limited by time.
Many people might be wondering how or why it took God 25 years to fulfill His promise to Abraham. God wanted to prove that His promise comes with time, but not limited by time. So, whenever that time comes, His promise will come to pass. It might interest you to know that the whole of that period, Abraham was stuck by God in faith, righteousness, and prayer until the appointed time. Genesis 21:1-2 records, “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.”
That was also the case for Zechariah and Elizabeth. They were both children of God and served the Lord with all their hearts. This also means that by virtue of their status as born-again children of God, it is obvious they would always be in the prayer mode. But then, they had no child until God’s appointed time. Bible says they were old and well stricken in years when they gave birth to John. We can also see that God blessed them when it was time. Though they were old, their testimony was not limited by time.
What is that miracle you are looking unto God to do for you and you are beginning to get worried that time is against you? You need not get anxious concerning when or how God is going to do it. Do not bother. Just let your heart be strong in Him for He will surely do it at His own time. He blessed Abraham and Sarah at their old age to prove that He is faithful to His promises no matter how long it takes. Wait for God’s time so that you do not make the mistake you will regret.
Put your trust in God’s faithfulness and He will not disappoint. Allow Him to lead the way so that you do not make the mistake many have made.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
- Father, give me the grace to wait for your appointed time in my life, in Jesus’ name.
- Any area of my life; spiritually, materially, financially, academically, career, and business-wise going through dryness; receive freshness by the Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ name.
- Any power assigned to abort God’s program for my life; receive destruction by fire, in Jesus’ name.
- Let there be abundant release of God’s power and spirit upon our G. O and Mommy in the Lord, in the name of Jesus’ Christ.
- We stop every meddling of the anti-Christ in the affairs of our nation, in Jesus’ name.
