Text: Matthew 25:14-30

Memory Verse: “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him, that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. (Matthew 25:29)

No matter how empty the devil wants you to feel, the truth is that there is something in you. You are not empty. Rather, you have content. As content, you are not dealing with quantity, instead, you are dealing with quality. That thing that God has deposited in you is your quality and that is what He is looking out for before He can multiply it and make it abundant. The thing that God has put in you is your talent or gift. Your ability to harness it properly will determine its usefulness or otherwise in your life.

John 12:24 states, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.”
The corn of wheat falling into the ground represents the talent/gift being honed or processed. When talent doesn’t go through this process of upgrading, it stagnates. But when it goes through this process, it upgrades and becomes better. In the same way, when you do not allow the content you have to develop and blossom, it stagnates and withers. If something is put in your hand, the expectation is that you will manage it prudently so that it becomes bigger. But whereby you are not able to manage what is entrusted into your hand to the extent that it diminishes or you lose it out rightly, it becomes a risk entrusting more things into your hand.

Therefore, before you can be entrusted with abundance, you must produce evidence of your ability to manage the little place under your watch. Our text today talks about the master that embarked on a journey while entrusting different levels of commitment to his servants. On his return, he demanded an account of how they fared; which is normal. Some produced evidence that they had done well and were entrusted with greater responsibilities. Others gave excuses as to why they could not make it. Even the ones they had were withdrawn. That is to say, that the level of abundance you will have will depend on what you do with the little that you are given. If you manage it well, it will grow and increase. If you manage it poorly, it will diminish and vanish away.

What is that talent that God has entrusted into your care? How do you manage it so that it will increase? Remember, your ability to manage it well will pave the way for abundance in your life. But your neglect of it will cause it to diminish and wither away. So, there is a decision to make today. You need to get down to work. Begin to seek ways to develop yourself by honing your skills and talents because they will pave the way for you to enter into abundance in your area of vocation.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

  1. Any spirit assigned to make me unproductive and useless, I bind you, I bind your powers, in Jesus’ name.
  2. Any waster operating in my destiny; be wasted by fire, in Jesus’ name.
  3. Any spirit assigned to make me worthless; be separated from me by fire, in Jesus’ name.
  4. Any power sabotaging the efforts and labor of our G. O and Mommy in the Lord; be exposed and be wasted, in Jesus’ name.
  5. Father, we pray for peace in our nation and ask that you destroy the drum of war being beaten by the enemy, in Jesus’ name.
