SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE 06/06/2021
TOPIC: WHILE THE DAY IS APPROACHING
Luke 18:1; Amos 4:12; Acts 6:1-4.
Everyone that is truly born again should know that there is no more time and that the coming of our lord Jesus Christ is at hand.
Roms 13:11-12.
The time is at hand, there is no more time.
1st Cors 7:29-31; Hebs 10:36-37.
There is no more time; Jesus is coming to rapture the saints and to receive the saints. Having known that there’s no more time, what should we be doing as we await the coming of the Lord? We need to prepare.
Amos 4:12
Everyone of us must know that going to heaven is not by chance, we must be prepared. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
Going to heaven, we must ensure holiness (Heb 12:14). In our preparations, we must ensure holiness and peace with all men, without which no one can see the lord (1st Peter 1:15-16). God is holy and anyone that wants to see the Lord must be holy.
For more understanding, we shall consider this message under 2 subheadings:
SOME POINT TO CONSIDER:
- PREPARATIONS, PRAYERS AND EVENGELISM.
Having known that God the Father is holy, and all the Angels are holy, then we must not joke with holiness. Holiness is a must for us to go to heaven (1st pet 1:15-16). You have to be holy in every area, inside and outside, if you must make heaven.
(Heb 12:14): God is holy, Jesus is holy, Holy ghost is holy, hosts of heaven are holy, which means we must be holy before we can make it to heaven and ensure purity on every side.
(Matt. 5:8): Purity and sanctification at all times is a must. You must pray and ensure purity at all times.
(Exodus 19:10): Purity, sanctification and inner purity is very important in meeting the lord.
We must be prepared at all times because we don’t know the time nor the hour, so that we don’t miss the rapture, and without the rapture people are still dying everyday, hence it is very imperative that our preparations are top notch. In our preparations, we must ensure purity in and out (1st Thessalonians 4:3).
Purity must begin from the heart, we must have a sanctified heart, then it will affect our thoughts, words and actions
(1st Thessalonians 5:23).
We must ensure we are wholly sanctified and be ready for that day.
We must not be careless about this issue of preparation (Amos 4:12). If you are careless or carefree, you will be like the foolish virgins (Matt 25:1-13).
Another important thing we should be doing while waiting for the coming of the master is – prayers. We should be prayerful. We should pray without ceasing. When we are praying, we will receive revelations, we will be more aware, will be attentive spiritually, we will not be carnal, and be able to overcome temptations (Luke 18:1, Matt 26:39-42, Luke 6:12, Luke 22:40-46, Eph. 6:18, 1st Thess 5:17)
2nd Timothy 3:1-5: We are in dangerous times, and things happening are targeting our faith. No wonder, the Apostles during their own days avoided any kind of distractions (Acts 6:4).
Above all, we must be on duty, as believers, we are ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we must make ourselves available in the business of Jesus Christ (Luke 2:48-49). The father’s business: Luke 2:46-47.
The business of Jesus was preaching the word of God, in season and out of season, we must do the same as an ambassador of Christ (2nd Tim 4:2).
Matt 9:35, Matt 4:23-25.
We must preach in season and out of season, because Jesus has commanded us to do us.
If you want to make it and make the rapture, you must obey this injunction (Mark 16:15). Like the apostles, we must go everywhere preaching the word (Acts 8:4).
- OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND BENEFITS.
We all must ensure that we keep to the point of preparations mentioned above: Purity, holiness, prayers and evangelism. We must engage in evangelism. We must give ourselves totally to evangelism, so that we can overcome and help others to make rapture of the saints.
We have examples to this effect.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect case study. Purity is possible through Jesus Christ (Heb 7:26, Luke 6:12, Luke 22:40-46, Luke 18:1). Let’s keep to these preparations, remember that Jesus Christ has commanded us to do so, the Apostles also left a legacy for us. (Acts 12:5-14).
Let’s follow their examples before the trumpet sounds and very shortly the trumpet will sound. Don’t join the world discussing the problems, rather focus on the necessary preparations.
For the sinners and Backsliders, they should repent and surrender all to Jesus Christ.
Confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour.
Romans 3:23; 1 John 3: 8 & 9; 1 John 5: 17a; Isaiah 59: 1;
Unbelief is sin. Selfishness is sin; Covetousness is sin, Insincerity is sin; backbiting, murmuring, speaking evil of others, these are terrible sin.
Going to native doctors, going for divination and palm reading, all that is terrible wickedness. No child of God does that. If you are into stealing, any form of stealing; stealing from Government, stealing from companies and individuals, that is sin. Amend your ways.
If you are there and you are involved into armed robbery, duping people, do not bring such money to this Church.
If you are among those people that are involved in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion, that is terrible wickedness.
Fighting and quarreling, smoking and drunkenness all these are evil. Ask for the mercy of God.
Are you into fighting and quarreling? Are you disobedient to your husband or you are beating your wife, that is sin.
Are you into any kind of killing, poisoning people, hired assassin? Confess that sin and amend your ways. Promise God you will not return to that wickedness.
Are you into divorce? That is sin.
Matthew 19: 4-6.
Are you into polygamous marriage or you have sent away your wife or you moved away from your husband, that is sin. Marriage is between a man and a woman until death separates you.
Are you a woman dressing like a man or a man dressing like a woman, all that is sin. Deuteronomy 22: 5
Are you among those that take snuff, take cigarette and banned substances, that is sin. That is wickedness against your soul and against humanity.
All these people that bleach their body and turn yellow over night, that is sin.
I have not spoken this word to condemn you but to point out what is evil thereby enabling you to amend your ways.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Proverbs 28: 13; John 14: 6; John 1: 29; John 10: 10b; Matthew 11: 28; John 1: 12; 2 Corinthians 5: 17
As you give your life to Jesus Christ and begin to live the life of the kingdom of God, I am assuring you, that power shall come upon you.
