TEXT: Luke 17:26-30. John 19:28.  Heb 10:37.

TOPIC: LET THEM NOT DECEIVE YOU.

MINISTER: PASTOR JOSHUA MUOKA

Many prophecies abound to confirm the certainty of the word of God. No one should neglect the fulfilment of these prophecies that are abound everywhere, remember that these prophecies are found in the holy scriptures.

Luke 17:26-30, Shows that every activities in the world must continue, until the trumpet sounds. So, we should not allow these activities to deceive us.

SOME POINTS TO CONSIDER:

1: The reasons, warning and unfortunate situation.

Point 2: Our expected response and the danger of neglect.

Many believers today are careless about the imminent coming of our lord Jesus Christ.
Roms 13:11-12.

1st Cors 15:50-52, Shows that before the rapture of the saints, it’s not everyone that will be alive, however, the rapture would happen in a matter of moment, in a second.

1st Thess 4:13-18, Everyone should know that whether we like it or not, it must surely come to pass, i.e this event – the rapture of the saints must surely come to pass.

This event must surely come to pass, whether we believe it or not. So many things are happening that are pointing to the fact that this event (rapture) must surely take place.
Hab 2:2

What we see today is that many brethren have no time for God, they have given themselves over the pursuits of early things, and that’s why this message has become very necessary. (1st Tim 4:10)

You can see that the things of this world, are not the main reasons why we are serving God. Apostle Paul stated clearly that earthly pursuits shouldn’t be our only hope as Christians to avoid eternal sorrows.
1st Cors 15:19

Mark 8:36, Jesus made us to understand that all the glory of this world put together, cannot be compared to a soul. But some are busy mortgaging their souls to the devil, hence this warning became the immediately remedy to the ugly situation of this world.

Gen 25:30-34, Some have sold their salvation for the things of this world; some have sold their faith for the glory of this world.

Matt 25:1-10, We must remember that the foolish vrigins didn’t yield to this warning, until it was late. Nobody should follow the examples of the foolish virgins, because they started making preparations when the door was shut, hence no believers should start making preparations after the rapture, as that would tantamount to catastrophe.

Many have gone back to the world, many have gone back to village meeting, many have gone back to enjoy themselves. (2 Timo 4:10).

1st Cors 7:29, The lord is trying to admonish us; that as many that have these things (worldly things), we should never allow these things to distract us, rather we should behave as if we don’t have them, to avoid distracting us from the real focus, because if we allow such, the end might be destructive.

Luke 17:32, The lord gave us a case study using Lot’s wife, urging us not to neglect the warning.

2: OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE DANGER OF NEGLECT.

We should remember that every activities in this world will continue until the trumpet sounds as we saw in Luke 17:26-30.
The activities of this world will continue and we should never allow these activities to deceive us, activities like: building, businesses, marriage, etc. As people of God, we should never allow these things to deceive us, seeing that they have no eternal value.

Matt 24:36-42, The lord is bringing this warning to the church, that every one of us must be ready. We should ensure we never come to a point whereby we will begin to draw away from him – Since we don’t know the hour; we should ensure we keep to purity at all times, ensure constant consecration and focus, to avoid missing the rapture.

Matt 25:1-10, No body should follow the path of the foolish virgins, who started to prepare when the day was shut. We all should be ready at all times, to avoid missing the rapture.

Heb 12:16, The lords is admonishing us, that no one should follow the path of Esau who sold his birth right. No believer should sell his/her birth right, we should not mortgage our souls.

Luke 17:32, The lord also raise the issue of Lot’s wife as a case study. Anyone who follows the path of Lot’s wife, would end up like Lot’s wife.

Luke 12:16-20, We must not allow the things of this life to distract us, as it’s written: The glory of this world passes away, and nothing can be compared to the soul.

So everyone of us, we must not be a victim, we must endeavour to escape. We must not be like some, which left the church and are after the things of this life. We must not be a victim, we must escape.

Mark 9:43, Everyone of us must take note, we must not allow the things of this world (no matter how important it might be) to distract  or deceive us from being raptured. No matter how precious, no matter how fascinating these things might be, they can never be compared to our souls, and as such we should never allow them to distract us.

For Sinners and Backsliders, confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour (Romans 3:23, 1 John 3: 8 & 9, 1 John 5: 17a,Isaiah 59: 1).

Sin is dangerous. It is destructive and yet almost the whole world has gone into sin.
Unbelief is sin. Selfishness is sin; Covetousness is sin, Insincerity is sin; backbiting, murmuring, speaking evil of others, these are terrible sin.
Going to native doctors, stealing from Government, stealing from companies and individuals, that is sin.

If you are among those people that are involved in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion; that is terrible wickedness.

Fighting and quarreling, smoking and drunkenness; all these are evil. Ask for the mercy of God.

Are you into polygamous marriage or you have sent away your wife or you moved away from your husband? that is sin.

Are you a woman dressing like a man or a man dressing like a woman, all that is sin.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
