SUNDAY SERVICE MESSAGE 24TH JANUARY 2021

MINISTERING: PASTOR JOSHUA MUOKA

TEXT: Zephaniah 1:14-19, Matthew 24:27-28, 30-36.

TOPIC: THE GREAT DAY OF THE LORD IS NEAR

Many things are happening which are a clear sign that the day of the Lord is near
( Matthew 24:33.) Even if everyone is engrossed in the activities of this world, we should know that there is no more time ( Revelation 1:3.) The time is at hand, there is clear evidence that if this generation doesn’t take care , what happened in the days of Noah and Lot will happen to this generation ( Luke 17:26-33.)

We must not be deceived with the vanities of this world like Lot’s wife. She looked back to the vanities of this life she left behind and she turned to a pillar of salt ( Luke 17:31-33.)

POINTS TO CONSIDER:

1: THE SIGNS OF HIS NEARNESS OF HIS COMING AND WARNING

Many prophesy of the end time and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:3-8, 14-15, 18.) We shouldn’t be like the ignorant unbelievers who do not know the signs of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ( Romans 13:-12.) We must not act or behave like unbelievers
(1 Timothy 4:1-3.)

Many, today, have given heed to seducing spirits. The Lord is making us to understand that these are signs of the last days and signs of His coming ( 2 Timothy 3:1-5.)

Many of these signs and prophecies abound in our very eyes today. We can see that the fore runners of the antichrist have run out of patience and our very own dear country is not left out. (Matthew 24:33-34, 1 John 2:18.)
As we can look around, there are so many who don’t believe in God and they are the antichrist. They are carrying out so many wicked activities now that Christ hasn’t come.

Ask yourself, if the antichrist have started carrying out so many evil now, how would it be when the saints have been captured and how terribly will those that remain suffer?

2 Thessalonians 1-8. Everyone should be warned that while we go through trials and tribulations we should remember what the bible says in (Matthew 24:9-12, Matthew 24:7-8, Matthew 25:11). As many that go on to live their lives in isolation to God’s word, God will deny them on the last day as we can see in the story of the ten virgins in the Bible.

If you are a believer that has been blessed by God, do not allow those blessings to constitute a distraction to you
( Romans 13:11-12.) God has given us an information through the scriptures that when we see these things we should know that the time is at hand and we shouldn’t be afraid.

2: OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE DANGER OF NEGLECT.

Everyone should begin to draw closer to God in fellowship and righteousness. When we see the signs of the end time it’s not a time to be afraid ( Hebrews 10:24-25.)

Brethren, we must not allow anything to distract or deceive us. We shouldn’t be engrossed with the things of this world
( 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, 35.) We must hold everything with a light hand because the Bible says that the fashion of this world passes away (1 Timothy 6:6, Zephaniah 2:1-3. )

Let us draw close to God in holiness when we start seeing the signs of the end time. We shouldn’t see the signs as though it’s normal or it would pass away. We should take advantage to prepare ourselves for the imminent rapture of the saints
(Matthew 24:44-46.)
We should all seek and serve God more and more because there is no more time
( 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.)

We must encourage everyone around us from time to time that no matter the challenges and problems it is for a short time. When the Lord comes to take we the saints away it shall be the end of sorrows and we shall have Joy from eternity to eternity.

Anyone who neglects this warning will end up missing the rapture (Matthew 24:40-42.)

From the admonishing of the scripture ,its making us to understand that we must be vigilant at all times. My prayer is that all of us shall be raptured and none of us shall be left behind (Matthew 25:10-12.) What the Lord demands from us in a time like this is preparation for the rapture of the saints and we should ensure holiness inside and outside (Matthew 7:21,23.)

On that great day, some will be denied entry into the kingdom of God because of some outstanding they refused to deal with. No matter the title and position they occupied here on earth, the Lord will tell them “Depart from me I know you not”. It is a time to search ourselves, examine our lives so that none of us shall hear that fearful statement ” Depart from me I know you not”.

Note that we should embark on evangelism for the upcoming crusade FROM SORROW TO JOY. Invite people around you and tell them that they should come that all things are now ready. Let us indulge in morning, afternoon and evening cry respectively. We should also embark in fasting 6-6pm that would start tomorrow. We should also seize the opportunity to send invitations to family and friends for the the crusade. We must make sure we buy banners and place them in strategic places as a matter of evangelism. We must do all we can to ensure the success of this crusade, and as you do so all our sorrows must turn to joy in Jesus’ name.

For Sinners and Backsliders, confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour (Romans 3:23, 1 John 3: 8 & 9, 1 John 5: 17a,Isaiah 59: 1).

Sin is dangerous. It is destructive and yet almost the whole world has gone into sin.
Unbelief is sin. Selfishness is sin; Covetousness is sin, Insincerity is sin; backbiting, murmuring, speaking evil of others, these are terrible sin.
Going to native doctors, stealing from Government, stealing from companies and individuals, that is sin.

If you are among those people that are involved in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion; that is terrible wickedness.

Fighting and quarreling, smoking and drunkenness; all these are evil. Ask for the mercy of God.

Are you into polygamous marriage or you have sent away your wife or you moved away from your husband? that is sin.

Are you a woman dressing like a man or a man dressing like a woman, all that is sin.
The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
