THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL…
DATE: Tuesday, January 2 , 2018.
TEXT: Hebrews 13: 5-6
THEME: FEAR NOT! HE HAS PROMISED TO CROSS US OVER
MEMORISE: “In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” (Psalm 56:4)
It is common at the beginning of each new year for people to naturally feel apprehensive about what the future holds. Many are fearful that they will not achieve their set goals while others are fearful that the same old pattern of disappointment and failure witnessed in years past are likely to continue this year.
Some people even fear that they will not even make through the new year. As human beings we are limited in our power to predict or see the future. We are also bombarded daily with bad news of various crisis happening all around us. It is therefore reasonable that we can sometimes feel uneasy about what the future has in store for us.
However, as a true believer and child of God we should not entertain fear about our future. God is able to see the future and knows what it holds for us. His thoughts towards us are those of good and not evil and that He has promised that He will always be with us and never forsake us. By His word, we have come to know that all things are ours and that He will provide for our every need. Jesus assured us during His earthly mission saying we should not worry about what we to eat or wear because our Heavenly Father knows everything we need. All that is required of us is just do His will and all other things shall be added unto us. Most importantly we know that our God loves us with a love so great that He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins while we were still sinners.
So, why are you anxious like someone who does not have any hope? Being worried or anxious is evidence that you have taken your eyes off God and are now relying on your own strength and understanding. Put your trust and faith in Him, He is faithful and will always come through for you. It may seem as if He is delaying but be rest assured He knows what is best for you and will perform His wonders at the right time. He never forsakes His chosen ones. God has promised us a glorious future and any time you might begin to doubt because of uncertainty or ongoing unfavorable situations, pick up your Bible; go through His word and be encouraged that our God cannot lie and He will do as He has promised as long as we remain faithful. He will cross you over this year. Be rest assured.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. Dear Father, thank you for your promise that you will never leave me or forsake me and that I am assured that you will see me safely through another year, in Jesus name
2. Father, I pray for my G. O and Mummy in the Lord that you will continue to multiply your grace and unction upon their lives and show them your will concerning The Lord’s Chosen ministry, in Jesus name.
