MESSAGE:
Chosen Praise the Lord! Once again the Lord has been gracious to us by allowing us to see the beginning of another year. We should not take this grace for granted at all. We all know of many people that we started the year 2017 with but are no more on this side of eternity. We also know of many who though they are still alive are in such dire situations that they can’t celebrate the New Year with joy. God however has been merciful to those that He has chosen to be His own. We should therefore be grateful for the gift of life and good health which no amount of money can ever buy.

While many of us have cause to look back and thank God for His blessings in the year 2017, it is also possible that a few of us may not have had their expectations of 2017 met. They set targets and goals at the beginning of last year but failed to reach them. Many of such people may be discouraged and may want to give up.

Don’t despair. Instead it is a time for sober reflections and stock-taking. Why were your expectations not met? We know for sure that our God is faithful to keep His promise so when it is not forthcoming then the problem is not from His end but ours.

Are your goals and ambitions in line with His word? Do they give glory to God or bring reproach to His name? Are your wants to satisfy your flesh or to help advance His Kingdom on Earth? Will you remain faithful to Him after He has granted your hearts desires? Or is that thing you desire really in your best interest?

Remember God is not mocked and He knows your innermost thoughts. He also knows the outcome of a matter and knows what’s best for us at the right time. Instead of getting depressed, search your heart and make sure that you are in right standing with Him and that your motives are pure. This is a time for new beginnings and He is able to make all things new. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else will be added on to you.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayerpoints:

1. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the grace to see the beginning of a New Year and for all the mercies and kindness you bestowed upon me throughout last year.
2. I appreciate you, Father, for all the good things that you have done in my life (name them – deliverance, protection, provision, healing etc). Accept my thanks dear Lord.
3. I pray for your continued guidance, provision and protection throughout the year 2018 as I rededicate my life to you in Jesus name.
4. I pray that you uphold my G. O, Mummy in the Lord, their children and
the entire ministry throughout the year 2018 and beyond in Jesus name.
