DATE: Saturday December 2nd, 2017.
TEXT: Matthew 16:3, 2 Corinthians 13:5

THEME: RE-EXAMINE YOURSELF TO BE SURE YOU ARE STILL STANDING
MEMORISE: ” And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times … (1 Chronicles 12:32)
MESSAGE:
The underlining word in the above immediate scripture is that the children of Issachar had understanding of the times. That means, they knew when it was best to take one action or the other. They put into consideration the suitability of their timing. Unfortunately today, there is scarcity of men and women like the children of Issachar. Time for them is of no essence. They do their things anyhow or any time without minding. For such people, every time is for play, cracking jokes, jesting, partying, etc.
During the month of December, many people take break from their work to enable them observe some rest and recharge their batteries and even to travel, but hardly consider the suitability of the period for spiritual reflections. December being the last month of the year, is a wonderful period to re-assess your relationship with God with the aim of making amends where necessary. It is a time when people take their legs off the throttle of life to travel back home to stay with their families or to rest. Therefore, because of the uniqueness of the yuletide period, there can never be a better opportunity to undertake this all-important task.
What has your relationship with God been like in the course of the year? It is possible that you have preoccupied yourself with things that do not have any correlation with your eternity. Now, therefore, is an opportunity for you to obtain a right standing with God by re-examining your ways. Are your ways right with God? What are those things that are still missing or that are still there when they are supposed to have gone? Sit back and reflect on them. Your ability to address this issue properly or otherwise will have implication for your eternity.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1.
O God my Father, give me the desired concentration to make a reappraisal of my life, in Jesus’ name.
2. I pray for the grace, determination, and will-power and personal discipline to maintain biblical standards, in Jesus’ name.
3. Preserve our G. O and Mummy in the Lord so that they will not fall out of your grace, in Jesus’ name.
