TEXT: Psalm 46
THEME: GOD IS OUR EVER-PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF TROUBLE
MEMORISE: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
As Christians, we have been called to a life of purity and separation from the world system. God’s standards are in direct conflict with the world standards and it is impossible to brace both at the same time. Its is either you are for Christ or against Him. There is no middle ground. Consequently, we Christians find ourselves in constant conflict with the world. The bible has warned us that anybody that will live a godly life will face many persecutions and temptations. Jesus also foretold that the world will hate us because it hated Him first. Thus, every true believer should be ready for his or her own fair share of trails and tribulations.
The good news however is that God has promised us victory and deliverance if we can just obey and trust Him. He will never let you be ashamed or face defeat. He will always provide a means of escape and send help when we need Him. The bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from ALL. Not some, but ALL. We have so many examples to draw from in the bible. He rescued the Israelites at the Red Sea when all hope was lost, He saved the three Hebrew boys from the fiery furnace and the fire did not touch them, He saved Daniel from the lion’s den by closing the mouth of the lion, He raised Lazarus from the dead even after all hope was lost, He delivered Goliath into David’s hand with only a sling and a stone and so many more examples. Today, He is doing the same in the midst of the chosen. He is saving us from armed robbers and ritualists by making their weapons powerless. He is healing the sick, providing for the poor and delivering people from the power of darkness.
Therefore, be rest assured that God will always come through for you. So, do not despair if you are facing any trial. Just trust and obey. He is our ever present help in the face of any trouble and he will surely see us through.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:
1. I thank you Father for your protection, deliverance and provision that you daily shower on me even when I am not aware. I thank you for your guidance since the beginning of this year till now in Jesus’ name.
2. Thank you Lord for delivering me from the hands of my enemies and not allowing them to triumph over me, in Jesus’ name.
3. Dear Lord, I plead for a hedge of fire to surround my G. O and Mummy in the Lord and their children so that no harm will befall them, in Jesus’ name.
