TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5:17

THEME: WHAT HAS CHANGED?
MEMORISE: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)
MESSAGE:

In today’s world of diluted and misleading doctrines, it is not surprising to find all sorts of people claiming to be Christians just because their names are John, Peter or Mary or were born into a family that goes to church on Sundays. This is what qualifies them to be called Christian in today’s world! It’s not surprising to find an armed robber, kidnapper, prostitute, corrupt public or private official, etc, proclaiming to be a Christian because he belongs to a church. This is the tragedy of the end times we are living in.
The first disciples that were called Christians were identified as such because of the way they conducted themselves like ‘little Christ’ not because of their names. It was their actions that gave them away as Christians.
Likewise a true believer is one whose lifestyle should be apparent that he or she has encountered a change. In The Lords Chosen, it is a common saying that if your church can not change you; change your church. The fact that is being pointed out here is that there must be a change when one encounters Christ and makes a commitment to follow him.
Your life can not remain the same as before. The Bible says that old things are passed away and we become a new creature. Since you gave your life to Christ, what has changed? Do you still dress the same, talk the same, and engage in the same activities with your old friends that are still in the world? Do you still react the same way to situations that require you to act like Christ?
Do you still keep malice or lie? Can people that know you before testify that you have changed or are they oblivious of your new status? If nothing has changed about you, then it will be safe to say that your so called conversion is a farce. In Chosen most people thank God for giving them genuine salvation. That means that there is salvation that meets Gods standard and the one that is not genuine. Please don’t be deceived. It is better to retrace your steps right now before it is too late.
Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Dear Lord, give me grace to shun worldly distractions and attractions of this present age, in Jesus name.
2. Lord, set me apart for your use in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord, cause our G. O and Mummy in the Lord to dwell in the secret places of the most High, in Jesus name.
