THEME: OTHERS MAY BUT YOU CANNOT

MESSAGE: 

We are indeed living in perilous times. The world as we knew it a few decades ago is not the same world we are living in today. Those things that were once considered atrocities and shameful are now being widely embraced as acceptable alternative lifestyles. Ironically, the wholesome values that were once considered righteous and true are now considered old fashioned at best or bigotry or false at worst. In many places all over the world even in the so called developed countries, Christians are being prosecuted either subtlety by forbidding them to openly profess their faith at work or publicly or out rightly by killing and imprisonment.

It will be very easy under such conditions for a believer to begin to waver in faith and join the mainstream in order to ‘fit’ in with today’s culture. However, to do so will not only be sad but dangerous as it will cost such a believer to miss Heaven and the reward that has been promised to those who overcome till the end.

While popular culture will have us believe that being a Christian should guarantee us a stress free life, the Bible has warned us that we will face many persecutions on our way to Heaven. We have also been warned that it is only those that persevere that will receive a crown at the end of this life. We should therefore resist the urge to join the multitude in adopting the prevalent world culture. We have been called to be separate and holy. While others may be comfortable adopting the world culture, we have been called to a higher standard and must obey the word of God. Abide in Christ and He will give you grace to remain steadfast even in these perilous times.

Worship/praise God and then take the following prayer points:

1. Dear Lord, give me the grace to remain on the straight and narrow path despite all the pressures that surround me in Jesus’ name.

2. I pray for all the lost and perishing souls all over the world that they may come to the realization of Christ in Jesus’ name.

3. I cover my G.O and Mummy in the Lord and their entire family in the precious blood of Jesus. Any enemy action targeted against them shall go back to sender in Jesus’ name.
