TOPIC: NOW DETERMINES YOUR ETERNITY
TEXT: LUKE 16:19-31, LUKE 13:24-28, 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10
Every youth should know that there are two place of eternity, where every one of us must surely be. And these two places of eternity are known to be heaven or hell, which are the two eternal destinations for every person, a place where people shall live forever and ever. You as a person must surely belong to one of them. You cannot escape one of them, and it’s your life here that ultimately determines where you will be.
No matter how you may be living now have it in mind, you are already walking the path to one of this eternal destinations Luke 16:19-31, Matt 7:13-14. Don’t forget eternity is where you are going to spend the rest of your remaining life and that life is without end, so beloved listener “Where will that be?” Now Determines your Eternity! Will you be in heaven or hell?
For better understanding of this message, we shall consider the following sub – headings (i) heaven, the eternity of the saint and it’s qualifications (ii) hell, the eternity of the sinners and it’s danger (iii) God’s counsel
1. HEAVEN, THE ETERNITY OF THE SAINT AND ITS QUALIFICATIONS
Everybody in this gathering knows that there is a place called heaven. We only know, but have not been there. Heaven is known to be the city of gold, the dwelling place of the Almighty God and holy angels; heaven is not like any of the cities or country of the world we may know. It is a place built by Almighty God Rev. 21:11-27, a city made of gold, glory and holiness. There is no death, darkness, hunger, sorrow, sickness and problem Rev. 21:1-4. It is a city prepared for the everlasting rest and reward of the saints John 14:1-3. Heaven is not made for anyhow person, such as the sinners, smokers, drunker, liars, fornicators, fighters, stealing etc. 1Corin. 6:9-10. heaven is made for the saints, the people who have been saved, wash in blood of Lamb and those whose sins have been pardoned by God Isa. 35:8-10. It is only those who are genuinely born again, living a sinless life, maintaining holiness and righteousness, obeying the totality of God’s word, living uncompromising Christian life and has consecrated their entire life to Christ that can make heaven Heb. 12:4, Matt. 5:8, Rev. 22:11-14.
2. HELL, THE ETERNITY OF THE SINNERS AND ITS DANGER
There is heaven; also you know there is hellfire, God made hellfire for a purpose. He made it for Satan and those who will refuse Him (God) and the gospel Rev. 20:10, Luke 10:15-16. Hellfire is a place of torment, pain, sorrow, agony, weeping and gnashing of teeth, Luke 16; 23-24, Mark 9:43-46. Is a place where God kept for the punishment of Satan, demons and all the sinners, who refused to repent from sin and turn Jesus Christ His son. Anybody who goes to hellfire will suffer forever; because the fire is unquenchable such a person will never see God again. He/she will be doom forever. So it is very dangerous for any youth to be there.
3. GOD’S COUNSEL AND WARNING
God’s warning through this programme is for you to decide and determine your eternity now by surrounding your life to Jesus Christ, live a righteous life that will qualify you for heaven, fight for it, avoid and stay away from anything that may likely be an hindrance to your making it Mark 9:43, 2Corin. 6:14-18. and by daily watching over our Christian life, to avoid any form of defilement Eph. 5:26-27. let us look into the word WATCH:
W – Watch your word 1Corin. 15:33.
A – Watch your attitude Phil. 2:14-15.
T – Watch your thought Matt. 15:17-20.
C – Watch your character 1Tim. 4:12.
H – Watch your heart Pro. 4:23.
It’s not the will of God that any soul should perish, so His counsel to you in this program is to turn from sin to righteousness and to embrace His love and sacrifice through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
