#YOUTH2017 INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMME – SECOND TEACHING BY PASTOR EBI NURSEMAN ISAAC

TOPIC: FUTURE LEADER’S DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES FROM ANTS AND RAVENS

TEXT: PROVERB 6:6-21, 1KINGS 17:4-6.

The writer of the book of proverbs has pen down “future leader’s development strategies and would like all those whom he described as “sluggards” (emphasis) to go and learn from the Ant – the principle and strategies of success. Also in the book 1Kings 17:4-6 we saw another important principle exemplified by the Ravens. The message illustrates the need for young people as future leader’s to set an elaborate and systematic plan of action for increasing and improving themselves; taking a case study from the Ant and Raven.
We are considering development strategies; we shall be concentrating on the basis on which the bible instructs our lives through the principles highlighted about the Ant and the Raven. As future leaders of the ministry and the nation, we cannot afford to overlook the lesson taught us by this tiny creatures and an unlikely bird as the Raven.

Some points to consider for better understanding of this message (i) future leaders development strategies from Ants (ii) faithfulness of Raven, our application and Benefit

1. FUTURE LEADERS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES FROM ANTS
Prov. 6:6-11; 20:11. Based on the above scripture, we realize that the Ant has no helper, teacher, instructor, counselor, Disciplinarian or guardian etc. yet we see diligence, studiousness, self – discipline, vision/sense of mission in all its endeavours and how it succeeds in life’s seasons. The ant lives completely void of excuses, the ants, if God could allow them to speak, would tell the youths (future – leaders) that their negative family and environmental background is not an  excuse for not succeeding in life because  others from that same environment have made it in life Numbers 22:28-30,  Proverbs 20:11. so, many youth have given in to the trends of this sinful generation; into seeking shortcut, cheap and sinful way of making it in life; they use their background, economy environment, circumstance etc as excuse to commit all kinds of evil e.g. prostitution, robbery, cultism, stealing, drug abuse, exam-malpractice, dishonesty, cheating and defrauding of others etc. thereby forfeiting there leadership rights in the kingdom. The lesson from the Ant is that however bad your condition maybe; even if you don’t have a father, mother, brother, sister and uncle etc. who will assist you in life, you still have no reason to fail in life or go into any vice.  The Ant without guide, overseer / ruler thrives and succeeds in life; how much more you who was created in the image and likeness of God, a chosen, a unique and peculiar person with passion and a potential that the world is waiting for. Eeeh! Yes, you…God have chosen you to take the lead; you have no reason to fail in life. (Isaiah 60:1-3)
Beloved, success is in your hand, your future is within you, you are carrying it within you everything that will make you not just a wonder to your generation but also an eternal Excellency and a leader of impact in the various field of life.

2. FAITHFULNESS OF RAVEN, OUR APPLICATION AND BENEFIT 1Kings 17:4-6
The Raven even feeds on meat, but faithfully brought meat to the Prophet Elijah; without compromise or hypocrisy   Genesis 39:1-12. God in His wisdom, in the selection of leaders not only consider skill or intelligence but looks out for faithfulness and qualities that will sustain those He will choose to promote and bless Act 6:1-7, Exodus 8:20-21 God is calling and preparing the chosen youth into leadership in every sector; family, business place, school, offices, government house, nation and in the church.
Like Joseph, Daniel and his friends were example of youth who rose into leadership, not just on the basis of what they can do (ability, talent, hard work etc.) but by reason of the light and beauty of their lives e.g. their faithfulness and integrity attracted God to their lives and endeared men to them (Hebrew 1:9, Psalm 45:11).
